iPad Initiative at COM-T
COM-T is active in incorporating technology into medical education. Each medical student receives a fully loaded iPad that is his or hers to use during medical school.
UA COM-T provided Apps:
- Arizona Mobile - The Arizona Mobile app provides on-the-go access to the most commonly used online resources at the University of Arizona
- Box - Box is an online cloud storage and collaboration tool that enables users to easily store, access, and share files from anywhere, at any time, and from any device
- Cisco AnyConnect - The UA Virtual Private Network (VPN) provides a secure connection from your home computer, laptop, or mobile device to the UA's network. It is also a valuable security tool when you are on an unsecured wireless network (e.g., coffee shops, airports).
- ClinicalKey -is a clinical resource from Elsevier which includes journals, books, practice guidelines, patient education, drug info, multimedia, FirstConsult, and more.
- Examplify - ExamSoft’s testing software, Examplify, provides students with a secure and stable exam environment for all assessment types.
- iAnnotate - A tool to read, markup, and share PDFs and more.
- Microsoft Productivity Tools (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Notability - Note-taking and PDF annotation tool.
- Panopto - a video streaming service that instructors can use to capture lectures and make the recordings available to students as well as stream videos.
- CatPrints (Wepa Print) - On-campus printing through CatPrints, provided by WEPA. CatPrints offers 1-sided and 2-sided laser printing in black and white or color on high-quality white paper. CatPrints kiosks are located in all University Libraries.
